Set during the fall of communism, a pocket full of marks and a new world ahead of you, take a dilapidated hunk of metal and embark on a grand journey through the territories of the former Eastern bloc.
The unique concept of Jalopy features a fictional Laika 601 Deluxe motor car reminiscent of the much-maligned East German “Trabbie” and it will need tender love and care to keep it going on this memorable road trip!
Jalopy is now ready to be released into the Steam Early Access portal on 22nd April 2016 at a limited edition price of $12.99. This will rise to $19.99 when the final version is launched later in the year. Since we released our first press release the game has made some major leaps in the development process and all four key game modes are in place for this early launch.
Jalopy is much more than a driving simulation. There are infinite routes generated by the sophisticated game engine to ensure each journey is truly unique. The poor infrastructure of the environment will mean that keeping your car on schedule will be a challenge in itself. Add to that a failing economy and you will find that scavenging through scraps for spare parts may sometimes be your only option; or, you could try your luck on the black market by selling illegal gains to the highest bidder. Whilst Jalopy sometimes feels like a journey of survival you can at least be assured that there is a motel on each route for you to rest your weary self and a Laika dealership to help you keep on the road.
