The release of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has been pushed back two weeks, developer DICE announced.
Catalyst is now due out on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe. It was previously scheduled to be out on May 24 and 26 respectively in the two regions.
Don’t worry about beta, it will start today, if it didn’t start already.
In a post on the official website, design director Erik Odeldahl stated that the game’s social play features–things like creating time trials, leaderboards, and so on–are a key part of the game. DICE is making use of a “brand new online technology” to power all of this, and it’s part of what’s going to be tested in the closed beta. The delay will afford DICE the necessary time to make adjustments based on beta feedback.
